4) Nevada - Lake Mead/ Hoover Dam:

It was clear that this was once a busy place, particularly for those working their way out of the Great Depression. With ninety feet of water above us, the site was eery, and strangely different from wreck sites I dived before. For one thing, this stuff never sank. When the dam was completed in 1935, the Colorado River was plugged and its waters filled the huge valley creating the largest reservoir in America. Unlike a ship that goes down, the plant never moved. The water went up. Interesting twist.

5) Arizona - Colorado River:

Walking passed zombie-eyed slot machine patrons at 4:30 am, I wondered how many hours and how many quarters they had spent sitting in front of those clanging machines. Pretty crazy I thought, but then, we were off to shoot the rapids of the Colorado River "in scuba gear" underwater!
